Anodisation, anodise

An electrolytic surface treatment to protect aluminium from corrosion. The metal surface is transformed into an impervious and very hard oxide layer which makes the material resistant to mechanical strain and is also resistant to weather effects and to corrosion. The metallic shine of the material is maintained since the oxide layer is transparent.

Technical anodisation makes it possible to give aluminium a hardness higher by a factor of 20 for special strains.

Anodised aluminium can be recycled for reworking and so represents an environmentally friendly method of surface coating which meets today's demands for sustainability.
