Welding

Welding represents the joining of two workpieces in a liquid state. The welding stock and the welding rod are made of the same basic material. The weld point is briefly brought to melting point and the materials more or less flow into one another.

The welding temperature is usually produced by a light arc (arc welding). In the rarer process of oxyacetylene welding, the heat is produced via a flame. Other welding processes include friction welding and spot welding.
